Aiden mask

Aiden Pearce's mask

For example when we started the project we were called Nexus. We built a logo for it inspired by a logo that means connectivity and in the middle we created a little gap to emphasize the hacking part, exploiting the connectivity.
Jonathan Morin, Ubisoft Montreal creative director [1]

The Vigilante Mask is a piece of clothing in Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2.

Summary[]

The mask is black in appearance, and in Watch Dogs the Nexus logo is on it, and in Watch Dogs 2, the standard Vigilante/Fox logo is on it. Aiden Pearce and Marcus Holloway both own these, and they keep their masks around their necks to cover their mouths and noses. They do this whenever they wield a weapon, because it protects their identity and prevents their face from being captured by Security Cameras.

In Watch Dogs 2, Marcus Holloway can change out masks, as the mask is a clothing item. They can be purchased from DedSec vending machines at hackerspaces or be unlocked by accomplishing feats and tasks within the game.

Trivia[]

  • Aiden and Marcus usually commit crimes with their masks down and then put the mask on after. The reason for this is unknown, as the intention is to keep their face a secret, so why they would do this is unknown. This is most likely a developer oversight.
  • In Watch Dogs, the mask has the old Nexus logo on it. This is replaced with the standard Vigilante/Fox logo in Watch Dogs 2.
