Driver SF App

App logo.

Driver SF is an app on Marcus Holloway's smartphone in Watch Dogs 2.

Overview[]

Driver SF is a rideshare service introduced in the mission Daredevil Liv!, in which Marcus can pick up pedestrians and drive them to their destinations. Unlike taxi driver missions in other games (such as Grand Theft Auto), the player can uniquely start any Driver SF mission in any vehicle Marcus is currently driving, such as their favorite sports car. However, the missions and destinations vary based on the rider's request and as such mission difficulty is based on what type of vehicle the player drives when starting missions. For example, in Johnny 5, Where R U?, the mission is best played in a 4x4 such as the Wildebeest due to much of the drive being off road.

Depending on the player's performance, riders will give Marcus a 1-5 star rating, with five stars being given at the beginning. Depending on the rider, if the player drives too fast or too slow, damages the vehicle, kills pedestrians or is wanted by the police, the rating will gradually decrease until given a zero star rating. However some will not mind going airborne versus others. Additionally, riders will also leave comments on the app about the player's performance, with positive praise for high ratings and negative comments and even non-recommendations for poor ratings.

Monetary rewards are given for the completion of each mission, however ratings will determine how many new followers DedSec will gain that are needed for game progression. There are a total of 18 Driver SF missions in the Metropolitan area, with 10 in San Francisco, 5 in Oakland, and 3 in Silicon Valley. These can be replayed at any time to increase the ratings and to gain more followers.

Trivia[]

  • The app can be seen advertised on numerous billboards throughout the city.
  • The name is an obvious reference to Ubisoft's 2011 game Driver: San Francisco.
  • Driver returns in Watch Dogs: Legion in the form of the Guide with "Driver: LDN" written on the front. However the side missions themselves do not return.
